Well it has finally happened after 15 years of not getting scammed on the web it has happened. I was hit by a scammer and how did it happen? Well glad you asked, it seems all my careful checking of companies came to naught when I decided to buy a plugin from WooThemes. This is the only place my credit card had been exposed to in the past 3 months. Well I bought the plugin and 2 weeks later in one day about 2k in charges appeared on the card. Kudos to my bank who saw it notified me and then help get it clear right away and canceled all the charges.
I only lost time and stress which is both good and bad but, I am bummed to have lost my perfect record. The moral to the story here is even companies you might have been ok with in the past may be compromised but in hindsight I should have known better as since the last time I purchased from that company about a 8 months ago they had changed from a well-known credit card processer to one I was not all that familiar with.
So going forward I guess I will not be buying anything at WooThemes until they gain some better security and can prove it to me.

I have a complaint about your security.
This is a general complaint about your service and security of my personal information. In particular my Credit Card info. Here is what happened about 2 weeks ago I purchased a plugin from you and since you do not accept PayPal I was forced to use my CC which I rarely do.
Well a couple of days ago I started getting fraudulent charges on my card and the only place I can trace back to where my info could have been compromised is with your website especially since the last time that card even cleared my wallet was about 6 months or more ago.
Because of this lack of security on your end I was forced to waste 2 hrs of my time (valued at $150ph) talking to my bank filling out reports to get all charges cancelled, cancel my card and add addition security to my bank account. Plus the added stress on my life.
So what I feel you owe me is $300 for my lost time due to your neglect, an apology and some confirmation that your security will be better before I come back to your site to purchase any more plugins.
